Natalie's First Soccer Game 09/06/08

We signed Natalie up for soccer this fall to run off some of her extra energy. Today was her first game and it was so much fun. Watching little 4 year olds trying to figure out where the ball is is so hillarious.
The girls were trying so very hard to understand what was going on. Her team, the Daisies, was pretty badly beaten, somewhere around 20-2, but it was well worth it.
The girls will learn as time goes by.

School Begins 08/25/08

School is back in session now and the kids are gradually adjusting to having to do things. Brie and Nate are both enrolled in a new "public school" program, taught at home, called Texas Virtual Academy. The cirriculum is provided to our family by the state of Texas and the kids must keep track of hours and attendence each school day. It has been a bit of a learning process. We started the first week without most of our supplies, but now have pretty much everything but student and teacher guides. Luckily these are provided online too, but we have already used 2 ink cartridges printing materials just in the first 2 weeks. (Ink is so ridiculously expensive!) Brie and Nate both seem to really be enjoying it so far though.

Brianna is currently in the 6th grade, and is taking Pre-Algebra, Language Skills, Literature 6, Life,Earth, & Physical Science, World History, Music Studies, Health/PE, Intermediate American Art, and a TAKS Prep activity course called Study Island. She enjoys Literature and the Sciences the most!

Nate is in the 3rd grade this year. He is taking Math 3, Language Arts 3, Life Science, Social Studies, Introduction to Music, Health/PE, Art 3, and Study Island. Nate really loves Art, but likes math too.

Natalie is not quite old enough for kindergarten yet, but that has not stopped her from wanting to do just what the older kids do. She wants to be in on every activity with them, which usually drives Brie and Nate crazy! She is very determined though. Natalie has been working very hard to learn to read, and is currently reading simple books like the BOB series. She also loves to write.

William just tags along with whoever lets him. As we get in a better routine of things, I hope to be able to help him learn some of his letters and numbers. He already knows his colors and shapes. (I don't know how, but he just picked them up from somewhere.)

William's Adventure 8/16/08

We should have known William was up to no good when he would not come in the house. We have had lots of rain lately, and our sandbox obviously made a perfect beach for him. Sam and I laughed, took lots of pictures, then we all hosed him down, outside of course, before letting him in the house.
He can always make us laugh.

We're Starting Our Blog!

We are beginning our blog! We have had our own family website for a while, but I have been very intimidated by the lack of knowledge I have about html. Thanks to my wonderful hubby introducing me to Blogspot, now I might actually be able to post and add pictures all on my own. We'll see what we come up with!
